Built from the slab up

A Garage Floor Is Only as Good as the Concrete Preparation Under It

Alpine evaluates the slab before selecting a coating system. Depending on existing conditions, preparation can include diamond grinding, old-coating removal, contaminant checks, crack or spall repair, and moisture assessment.

The installation plan then coordinates the compatible base layer, decorative broadcast or finish, topcoat, and project-specific cure guidance.

Epoxy vs. polyaspartic: the short answer

Neither is universally better. The right system depends on the slab, installation conditions, schedule, UV exposure, finish, and garage use.

Why I Started Alpine Garage Systems & Epoxy Flooring

Sean Kurti, Owner of Alpine Garage Systems & Epoxy Flooring
Sean Kurti, Owner & Founder

What makes this business rewarding isn't the concrete or the coatings — it's the moment a homeowner opens their garage door and sees something they're genuinely proud of.

I've seen it happen again and again. A cluttered, forgotten space becomes room for the kids' bikes, a clean place for the cars, organized tools, beautiful storage, and a floor someone isn't embarrassed to leave open.

If I wouldn't be proud to put my name on it, it isn't finished.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a garage floor coating take?

Installation and return-to-service timing depend on the coating system, temperature, humidity, concrete condition, and project scope. Alpine provides project-specific walk-on and vehicle-return guidance with each installation.

How much does a complete garage system cost?

We publish our starting prices because we believe in transparency. A 1-car garage floor package starts at $1,799, and a 2-car package starts at $2,999. Custom cabinets and complete garage systems vary based on the scope. We offer free, exact quotes after seeing your space.

Do you provide a written estimate?

Yes. Alpine provides a clear written estimate after reviewing your garage, concrete condition, service needs, and finish choices. Starting floor-package prices are published online, and final pricing is confirmed for the actual project.

What areas do you serve?

We serve homeowners and commercial clients across Westchester County (NY), Rockland County (NY), Putnam County (NY), Bergen County (NJ), and Fairfield County (CT).

What is better for a garage floor, epoxy or polyaspartic?

Neither system is universally better. Alpine compares the slab, temperature, cure schedule, UV exposure, finish, and garage use before recommending epoxy, polyaspartic, or a compatible hybrid system.

Do you grind the concrete before coating it?

Alpine uses mechanical preparation such as diamond grinding when appropriate for the slab and selected system. Existing coatings, contamination, cracks, spalls, and moisture conditions are evaluated before installation.

Can you coat cracked concrete or an existing epoxy floor?

Often, but the existing surface must be evaluated first. Cracks and spalls may need repair, while an old coating must be identified, tested, and removed where it is weak or incompatible.

Will road salt damage a garage floor coating?

A suitable coating can make winter residue easier to clean, but no floor is maintenance-free. Sweep abrasive grit and remove concentrated salt or brine using a cleaner approved for the installed system.

What is a full-broadcast flake garage floor?

A full-broadcast system distributes decorative vinyl flake across the wet base layer until the surface is fully covered, then seals it with a compatible topcoat. The flake adds visual depth and texture.

Can cabinets, slatwall, and overhead storage be added with flooring?

Yes. Alpine can plan flooring, cabinets, slatwall, and overhead storage as one coordinated garage system. Final placement depends on the walls, ceiling, vehicles, utilities, access, and selected products.

What warranty does Alpine provide?

Alpine provides a 5-Year Limited Labor Warranty according to its written terms for eligible installations. Product or manufacturer warranties, when applicable, are separate.
